They also discussed the Writers Roundtable that took place May 11th at the Colchester-East Hants Library, Truro Branch, as well as the Ada Mingo Memorial Teen Writing Awards Presentation held the same day. Shared were the benefits of attending Farmers Markets to peddle books and the success of other authors who did just that.
Tables at the Truro Farmers Market can be rented for $20. The market runs each Saturday between 8:00 am and 1:00pm.
It was agreed that writers who attended the roundtable were disappointed by the inability to set up a display and sell their books to the general public instead of what was offered: a cart where they could sell only to the other writers in attendance.
John Grant gave each member a copy of Chasing Llamas in My Pajamas to be critiqued for the June meeting.
The group welcomed two new members—Jane Miller and Joan Fraser—to the group.
